An Ending

Writer's picture: Sahithi MedikondlaSahithi Medikondla

A slow shuddered inhale,

Tears streaming from faded golden irises,

The clenching of fists,

A new feeling for one so innocent.

A deep soulful inhale,

Green eyes glimmering with hope,

The gentle thumping of anticipation,

A new beginning for one so desperate.

A soft melodic inhale,

Walls guarding violet eyes,

The hidden exhaustion as the last note fades,

A new realization for one so naive.

A ragged inhale,

Anger seeping through amber eyes,

The yanking of auburn hair,

A new understanding for one so trusting.

A collective last exhale,

The drooping of once beautiful eyes,

Colors fading to black and white,

A new emptiness that gathers inside.

The first betrayed by a lover,

The second broken by a promise,

The third created by a lie,

The fourth misled by possibilities.

As the last exhale comes to an end,

Gold, violet, amber, and green all turn black.

As the last beats of the heart fade,

Not one could survive.
